Updates

April 20, 2011

It's been a while I haven't updated. I had some school projects to do over the past month and stuff. But now I'm finished. Yay! And I'm back with two new dolls

The first one I actually made it last march, before I got busy with school, but I forgot to update this site. It's my round 1 entry for Miss Doll International. This year I decided to enter with Papua New Guinea. This doll was much of a challenge, but it came out to be really nice. I even got a Daily Deviation for it today!! AND as of now it's received the most people's choice votes for the pageant (this could change though, the next person is only a couple votes behind). I don't know but it seems I'm always doing extremely well in the first rounds of pageants. Probably because that's when I get most excited about it. This time I really hope I can keep it up for subsequent rounds.

Second doll is a fan art of Marle from Chronotrigger. Actually, it's a redo of an older doll I made of her in 2006. (this is actually a short amount of time for me between an original and it's redo; usually I dig in my older minis for possible redos.) I made it for a contest on DeviantArt called 'So I herd u liek progress?'

An update already! Yeah, it seems I'm in a burst of dollmaking lately. . . too much procrastinating on my homework and dolling instead. Anyway, my newest one is for the Blue Hair contest over at Colors of the Seven Oceans. Wish me luck!

On another note, I made an update to my Dolling For Newbies Before You Start tutorial to include some better links for bases (now that DHF is down and stuff) I've included Mariiii's new Free Bases List as well as Pixistar.

Long time no update! Actually, I probably should have updated way earlier than this, but I was lazy :( I was meaning to recode some parts of the site to make it html5, but it's really taking me way too long lol, so I'm not sure when it'll actually get done.

I've got two new pixel dolls, both of them in the Gothic section. One is a redo of an older doll of mine, the other was for a lolita contest, I came in 3rd, but there were very few entries, so that's hardly an exploit!

On another note, I finally got my main website settled, so you can go visit it at http://www.ninique.net. I'll be putting up all my school projects on there too, so you can see what I'm up to when I'm not dolling :P

I have just updated my dollmaker script. I fixed a major bug in IE that someone over at The Doll Palace told me about, and implemented one of the features that was asked there: anti-rightclick. This new feature is entirely optional, and it only blocks rightclicking on images, so to be as unobstrusive as possible. I also moved the code to GitHub, which makes it a lot easier to update, and also that way other people who know how to code can also contribute to make it better.

As you may know if you were following me on twitter, over the last week I have changed the hosting for Ninique's Minidollz. That's also the reason why the site was down for part of thursday night and friday morning. I was getting tired of my old hosting company because they were putting promotions and stuff all over my cpanel and I also found out that they actually owned my domain name. . . anyway, now I've moved to a hosting company called site5. My new host has been really nice and even moved all my files over for free. The process of moving was kind of stressful though (I didn't know what to expect, and when my site went down I was worried it would be down for a long time, but in the end there was less than a day of downtime) but I'm really glad that it's over and that I've moved to a company that is better for my needs.

On another note, I'm almost done my semester at school (about a week left yay!) so after that I'll be able to be a bit more active. I've got an update underway for the dollmakerscript that should be ready by then, and maybe some other surprises XD.
